摘要 Utilities that increase the volume of media elements that can be simultaneously loaded and/or unloaded into or from a storage library, facilitate mounting of media element magazines into a storage library, and limit access to an interior of a storage library by users during operation of robotics assemblies of the storage library. One disclosed utility includes a cartridge access port for use with a storage library that has a storage container that is pivotable (e.g., swingable) between at least first and second positions. In the first position, the storage container is adjacent an opening in the housing of the library for loading and unloading of media elements by a user into or from the container via the opening. After the storage container has swung into the second position, the storage container is spaced from the opening and faces the interior of the library for access by a robotics assembly.

A system for use with a storage library, comprising: a framing assembly; a first door pivotally secured adjacent a first side of the framing assembly to pivot about a first door pivot axis between at least first and second positions, wherein the first door is closed against the framing assembly in the first position, and wherein the first door is open and spaced from the framing assembly in the second position; a second door pivotally secured adjacent an opposite second side of the framing assembly to pivot about a second door pivot axis between at least first and second positions, wherein the second door is closed against the framing assembly in the first position, and wherein the second door is open and spaced from the framing assembly in the second position; and a latching assembly that prevents the first and second doors from simultaneously being in their second positions, wherein the latching assembly includes: a first latch member pivotally secured to the framing assembly to rotate about a first latch member pivot axis;a second latch member pivotally secured to the framing assembly to rotate about a second latch member pivot axis; anda biasing member that induces rotation of one of the first or second latch members about its first or second latch member pivot axis in one of a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to lock one of the first or second doors in its first position in response to the other of the first or second latch members being rotated about its first or second latch member pivot axis in the other of the clockwise or counterclockwise direction by the one of the first or second doors.
