According to the present invention, provided is a method for predicting a thickness of slag including the steps of: measuring a volume of the inside of the ladle; conveying molten steel and slag from an electric furnace receiving the molten steel and the slag to the ladle and measuring the weight of the molten steel; measuring the volume of a free board of the ladle where the molten steel and the slag is received and the surface area of the upper side of the slag; calculating the volume of the molten steel from the weight of the measured molten steel and calculating the volume of the slag from the measured volume of the inside of the ladle, the measured volume of the free board, and the calculated volume of the molten steel; and calculating a thickness of the slag from the volume of the calculated slag and the measured cross section of the slag. |
