The present invention relates to an electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery which contains a non aqueous solvent and lithium salt wherein the non aqueous solvent contains a ring shaped carbonate and a linear solvent and the content of the ring shaped carbonate is within the range of between 1 wt% and 30 wt% compared to the entire solvent and to a lithium secondary battery including same.
