PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit, an optical element, and a manufacturing method thereof such that molding and die processing are easy and highly accurate positioning for attachment to a base material can be performed without affecting optical performance.SOLUTION: An optical unit includes: an optical element that has a plurality of reflection portions and a connection portion connecting the plurality of reflection portions; a holding member 70 that holds the optical element; and positioning portions 72, 73, and 74 that are provided to the holding member so as to guide a light beam reflected from the plurality of reflection portions to a determined position. A positioning reference portion to be in contact with the positioning portions is provided to the connection portion.
