PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a water level in a plant raising tank 10 to form a raising environment suitable for raising of plants V, such as root vegetable, while time taken for adjustment of the water level is shortened.SOLUTION: A plant raising apparatus comprises: a plant raising tank 10 into which nutrient liquid is intermittently supplied; a culture medium 40 laid in the plant raising tank 10; and a water level adjustment mechanism 30 which, when a water level in the plant raising tank 10 rises with the supply of the nutrient liquid and the culture medium 40 is immersed in the nutrient liquid, discharges the nutrient liquid after the immersion to lower the water level. The culture medium 40 is formed of a large number of hollow bodies 41 each of which is constituted to have openings in part thereof and the nutrient liquid can enter/go out an internal space through the openings. |
