[Also in Division F2] A screwing-up or unscrewing device for insertion in the draw-bar 63 of a stud tensioner 50 (see Division F2) to engage the socket-head 55B of the stud comprises keys 116A for engaging keyways 118 in the drawbar and a bar 119 for engaging slots 63B, 63D in the drawbar. The wrench may be raised to an inoperative position in the drawbar and retained by engaging the adjustable knob 120 of the wrench in an enlargement, Fig. 2A (not shown), at the top of the slots 63D. The drawbar has screw-threads at the lower end for engaging the stud and handles 109 at the top for turning the bar. In a modification, Fig. 18, an anvil member 122 may be secured to the drawbar and struck by a wheel-hammer 125, the hub 123 of which is slotted at 123A to receive projections 122A of the anvil. In a further modified tensioner with a similar impact wrench 114 for releasing the stud, Fig. 20, a pneumatic motor 400 rotates, through a flexible coupling 401, the drawbar for screwing-up or unscrewing the stud. During these operations, a nut 64 or 264 rotates with the drawbar. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 915,754. |
