The present invention relates to a use of TC1(C8orf4) gene regulating hematopoietic progenitor cells and hematopoiesis. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for promoting hematopoiesis, containing a TC1(C8orf4) protein expression or activity inhibitor as an active ingredient. In addition, the present invention provides a method for screening a fungicide, comprising the steps of: making a test material come into contact with cells containing TC1(C8orf4) gene or TC1(C8orf4) protein; measuring the degree of expression or activity of the TC1(C8orf4) protein in the cells having come into contact with the test material; and selecting a test material in which the expression or activity of the TC1(C8orf4) protein decreases compared with a control group sample. It is considered that the TC1(C8orf4) protein of the present invention, as an inhibitory regulator of hematopoiesis, is used as a target which is very useful for the development of a drug for promoting hematopoiesis.
