摘要 The purpose of the present invention is improve a trap effect for trapping ignition fuel gas supplied to a prechamber, reducing the amount of unburned ignition fuel gas flowing out of the prechamber and suppressing degradation of combustion efficiency. This gas engine is equipped with: a prechamber (Sr) that is disposed inside a cylinder head section (10); a spark plug (20) that is disposed in the upper section of the prechamber (Sr); a prechamber gas supply mechanism for supplying an ignition fuel gas (g) to the prechamber (Sr) through prechamber gas passages (22a and 22b) that open through the upper section of the prechamber (Sr); and a check valve (24) that is disposed in prechamber gas passage (22b). Prechamber gas passage (22a) opens through the bottom surface of a cover member (16) that forms the prechamber (Sr), or through the upper section of the sidewall of a base member (14), and opens in a tangent direction to the inner circumferential surface (14a) of the sidewall of the base member (14). The ignition fuel gas (g) supplied to the prechamber (Sr) forms a swirl flow (s1) inside the prechamber (Sr), said swirl flow swirling about the longitudinal axis (x) of the prechamber (Sr).
