The present invention provides a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, comprising: a core layer including a lithium nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide; a separation layer formed on the surface of the core layer and including one or more metal oxides selected from a group consisting of Al, Mg, B, Sr, and W; and a shell layer formed on the surface of the separation layer and including a lithium nickel-manganese oxide; and a manufacturing method thereof. According to the present invention, the positive electrode active material can have high capacity, stability, and cycle properties. |
