PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ESD protection device having ESD characteristics hard to be degraded.SOLUTION: An ESD protection device 1 includes: a ceramic insulating material 10; first and second discharge electrodes 21 and 22; a discharge auxiliary portion 51; and a protective layer 52. The first and second discharge electrodes 21 and 22 are provided on the ceramic insulating material 10. The discharge auxiliary portion 51 is disposed between an end portion of the first discharge electrode 21 and an end portion of the second discharge electrode 22. The discharge auxiliary portion 51 is an electrode to lower a discharge starting voltage between the first discharge electrode 21 and the second discharge electrode 22. The discharge auxiliary portion 51 is composed of a sintered body containing conductive particles and at least one of semiconductor particles and insulating particles. The protective layer 52 contains at least one of a semiconductor material constituting semiconductor particles and an insulating material constituting insulating particles. |
