The invention relates to an interlock weft knitted fabric with loops crossed by transfer and to a process for carrying out the same. According to the invention, the knitted fabric consists of some interlock courses (I and II) made using two rib patterns 1x1 (a and b), some shanks (OFr and OSr) of some front and back loops (OF and OS) of some paired wales (1/1' and 2/2') which mutually change position, the front wales passing to the back and vice versa, in case of a semi-twist, or being brought back to the initial position, after a complete twist. The process, as claimed by the invention, consists of two knitting stages, for making the rib patterns 1x1, followed by some transfer stages by which some front and back loops on some paired wales change position with one another, the loops on the front needle bar passing to the back needle bar, after the transfer, the said wales being previously released, by applying the lateral transfer of the back loops to some free wales of the opposite needle bar, after which the loops with back appearance are transferred to the front needle bar which involves a double transfer, from the front to the free back needles and then from the back to the front needle bar. |
