<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the time to carry out calibration for adjusting a set value that affects the image quality of an image formed by an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A time series data modeling part 53 reads an image quality adjustment parameter values accumulated in an image quality adjustment parameter time series data accumulation part 52 and models time series data transition for each parameter. Based on the time series model of the image quality adjustment parameter values, an image quality adjustment cycle timing determination part 54 calculates the number of sheets able to be provided until the image quality adjustment parameter values deviate from a reference range, and determines whether the parameter values are equal to or below a threshold. If they are equal to or below the threshold, a start time for the calibration is output to an operation panel by an image quality adjustment cycle time informing/starting operation input part 55 and receives permission or alteration.
