PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a type of a biosensor by a measurement instrument.SOLUTION: A measurement instrument includes: an insertion port to which a biosensor including a measurement unit to be spotted with a sample and a connection terminal part having a conductive film pattern electrically connected to the measurement unit is inserted from the side of the connection terminal part; a plurality of connectors connected to the connection terminal part; measurement means which measures a specific component in accordance with an output from the measurement unit; and display means for displaying the measurement result of the measurement means. The measurement instrument is provided with switching means which is pushed and driven in accordance with a shape of the connection terminal part inserted to the insertion port, and the type of the biosensor inserted to the insertion port is determined by combination between a turning-on/off state of the switching means due to insertion of the biosensor to the measurement instrument and the conductive film pattern detected in accordance with conduction/non-conduction between the plurality of connectors. |
