PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cost effective metal gasket for moderate to high temperature embossed metal gasket applications up to operating temperatures of about 1000°F.SOLUTION: A metal gasket 10 comprises: a gasket sheet having at least one embossed sealing bead 18 made of an alloy. The alloy comprises predetermined weight percentages of Ni, Cr, Mo, Mn, C, TiV, Al and B and the balance Fe with incidental impurities. The gasket sheet exhibits a tensile strength of 1000 MPa or more measured at room temperature and an elongation of at least 5%, has a cold worked structure with a directional grain structure and has a deformed cold worked structure formed without any post-embossment heat treatment. |
