A pneumatic tire is configured so that restraining force to a belt layer is increased to improve the durability performance of the tire. A band layer (8) which is formed by helically winding a band-like ply (11) includes: a first ply section (16) extending from the starting end (11a), which is located between the equator (C) of the tire and one end (7i) of a belt layer (7) in the axial direction of the tire, to above the one end (7i) of the belt layer (7) in the axial direction of the tire; a second ply section (17) extending from above one end (16i) of the first ply section (16) in the axial direction of the tire to above the other end (7t) of the belt layer (7) in the axial direction of the tire; and a third ply section (18) extending from above the other end (17t) of the second ply section (17) in the axial direction of the tire to the terminating end (11b) located between the other end (17t) of the second ply section (17) in the axial direction of the tire and the equator (C) of the tire. The band-like ply (11) is continuous from the starting end (11a) to the terminating end (11b) without interruption. |
