The present invention relates to a method for prevention and treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy by a deproteinised hemoderivative, wherein about 1000 or about 2000 mg of a deproteinised hemoderivative is administered intravenously daily during a period of at least 10 consecutive days, and wherein after the period of intravenous administration about 200, 400 or 600 mg of the deproteinised hemoderivative is administered orally once, twice or three times daily for 120 days or even longer as mainly long-term treatment. |
