The present invention relates to a battery system (1) having multiple battery elements (2) and a method to repair the battery system (1) having multiple battery elements (2). Out of the battery elements (2), one is separated from the battery system (1) and the other battery element (2) is added to the battery system (1) instead. In accordance with the present invention, the battery system (1) is equipped with a measuring device (3) in order to measure operating parameters of the battery elements (2). The measuring device (3) is equipped with operating parameter data showing data memory (11) to save the operating parameter in non-volatile manners. In this case the operating parameter data are replaced with the battery elements (2).
