PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection method and a connection structure of resin member, capable of markedly lessening the cut amount of one-directional fiber material that constitutes UD material by means of a rivet as compared to the conventional connection method and connection structure and, therefore, capable of obtaining a connection structure having high connection strength when resin members are connected by themselves with self-pierce rivet, when at least one side of resin member is the UD material.SOLUTION: In the connection method of resin member for connecting superimposed portions of the resin members 5, 6, the resin members 5, 6 are one-directional materials prepared by orienting, in one direction, fiber materials (continuous fibers 5b, 6b) therein. The connection method includes: a step of preparing the rivet 4 having an opening 4c on a barrel part 4a; and a step of superimposing parts of the resin members 5, 6 by themselves, positioning the rivet 4 on the above side of the superimposition portions so that the opening 4c is directed to the direction where the fiber materials 6b, 5b are oriented and, thereafter, driving the rivet 4 to allow the rivet 4 to reach an inner part of the resin member 5 of the lowermost layer. |
