PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extruded foam sheet which exhibits excellent mechanical characteristics even at a high expansion ratio and has excellent moldability, and to provide a container obtained from the extruded foam sheet.SOLUTION: The extruded foam sheet of the present invention contains a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer composition that contains a linear vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer (A) and a branched vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon polymer (B) in which a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon chain is bonded to a conjugated diene moiety of a block copolymer comprising a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and a conjugated diene, and that satisfies predetermined requirements. The container of the present invention is obtained by vacuum-molding the extruded foam sheet.
