A vehicle braking device, comprising: a primary hydraulic pressure generating unit configured to generate a primary hydraulic pressure in accordance with a braking operation by a driver; a secondary hydraulic pressure generating unit configured to operate so that the secondary hydraulic pressure generated by the operation of an electric actuator tracks the target hydraulic pressure based on the braking operation; a braking operation quantity detecting unit configured to detect a quantity of the braking operation; a braking operation force detecting unit configured to detect a correlation value of a force of the braking operation; and a control unit configured to perform switching control, in accordance with whether the quantity of the braking operation detected by the braking operation quantity detecting unit is smaller than a predetermined threshold value or not, between causing the secondary hydraulic pressure generating unit to operate on the basis of the quantity of the braking operation and causing the secondary hydraulic pressure generating unit to operate on the basis of the correlation value of the control operation force or the correlation value of the control operation force and the quantity of the braking operation.
