<p>Techniques are provided for inhibiting changes in the operational state of electrical circuits for lights, appliances and other devices by controlling the effect of manual actuation of an electrical switch in an electrical circuit. A normal mode is established in which manual actuation of the switch effects a change in a state of current flow in the circuit. An alternative holiday mode is also established in which manual actuation of the switch has no effect on current flow in the circuit. Automatic switching occurs between the normal mode and the holiday mode at specific times corresponding to specific events dependent on the time of year, a time of day and a geographic location of the circuit.</p> |
