PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc type discharge lamp in which occurrence of scratch or crack in a window member is inhibited.SOLUTION: A short arc type discharge lamp comprises: a body which has a reflection surface curved in a concave shape inside thereof; a negative electrode and a positive electrode arranged opposing to each other in a discharge space formed surrounded by the reflection surface of the body; a window member which is arranged in a front area of the body via a metal ring for feeding electricity to the negative electrode; and a ring-shaped window support member with a U-shaped cross section having a cylindrical inner ring part to which a peripheral side surface of the window member is fixed by a brazing material, a cylindrical outer ring part having a large diameter than the inner ring part, and a connecting part which connects the inner ring part and the outer ring part and fixed to the metal ring, in which the inner ring part of the window support member has a front edge portion having a shape folded inward or outward in a radial direction of the window member in a front area of the window member. |
