ABUSE RESISTANT PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlled release type pharmaceutical composition having abuse resistance, which comprises a pharmaceutically effective amount of discrete particles of an abusable active ingredient.SOLUTION: In this pharmaceutical composition, the surface of the particles is wet with a water-insoluble coating material, and preferably the composition comprises a matrix distributing the particles and the abusable compound in the matrix hardly separates from the matrix. A preparation method of a controlled release type pharmaceutical composition with reduced abusability comprises the steps of: applying pressure on a mixture consisting of a water-insoluble material and particles of a pharmaceutically active compound capable of introducing physiologically or psychologically harmful reaction in a subject when administered in an immediate release type dosage form in order to generate particles with the surface being coated; and incorporating the particles with the surface being coated into a pharmaceutical composition.
