<p>Provided are an inkjet recording device and a medium transport method, with which the occurrence of phenomena such as wrinkling, position shift of the grip position, and the like, occurring due to deformation of a medium during nipped transfer of the medium are prevented, making it possible for transport of the medium to take place with high accuracy. In this inkjet recording device for forming an image onto a medium, a medium reversing means (22) for reversing a first surface and a second surface of a medium (P) is equipped with a presser drum (71) provided with a gripper (71A), a reversing handoff drum (72) provided with a gripper (72A), and reversing drum (73) provided with a gripper (73), and designed to grip the edge (P1) being gripped by the reversing handoff drum, and the opposite edge (P2), and to reverse the surface and the second surface. An elastic layer of the presser drum is placed in contact with the medium being gripped by the gripper of the reversing handoff drum, imparting pressing force to the medium, and placing the medium into close contact against the reversing handoff drum.</p> |
