In a case where a noise signal source changes in an extremely short period of time, the present invention effectively suppresses noise and efficiently extracts only the periodic component of a signal from a monitored operation portion. In a measuring device that is controlled so as to repeatedly carry out the same operation at a fixed period, the periodic sound of a monitored operation portion is separated and extracted with a high degree of accuracy through the separation of a sensor signal into a periodic component and a non-periodic component using the fact that the volume of each frequency of an operating sound repeats the same pattern at a period that is a fixed multiple of the control period, and abnormality detection is carried out (see figure 7).
