<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency-domain fluorometer that is configured to generate excitation light the intensity of which is modulated by a single frequency selected from a wide frequency range from DC to several GHz, and thereby, that can measure a fluorescence lifetime of nano seconds or shorter and a rotation correlation time with high sensitivity and high accuracy.SOLUTION: Intensity modulated light generated by using an optical waveguide type LN light modulator 12 driven by a circuit operated with a low drift is used as excitation light. A superposed electric signal of a DC bias and a periodical variable voltage is supplied to an electric signal input terminal of the optical waveguide type LN modulator 12 via a bias tee 13a, while a DC bias is supplied to an electric signal end terminal of the optical waveguide type LN modulator 12 via a bias tee 13b. By this configuration, generation of a current in the optical waveguide type LN light modulator 12 is suppressed to stabilize light modulation characteristics, and are stabilized while suppressing generation of a current in the optical waveguide LN optical modulator 12 and to generate intensity-modulated excitation light.</p> |
