This device is equipped with: a CCD (25) arranged in the distal end portion of the endoscope insertion part; a first LED (26a) and a second LED (26b) provided as illuminating light emitting means; an area setting unit (30) that sets a first area in which illumination from the first LED (26a) is predominant on the endoscopic image, and a second area in which illumination from the second LED (26b) is predominant; and a white balance circuit (35) that computes respective color balance values corresponding to the first and second areas, and on the basis of the respective computed results, carries out a correction process on the color balance values of the video signal of the endoscopic image overall. |
