<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a function of a microcomputer 5 itself from stopping in an unforeseen mode. <P>SOLUTION: A lighting device 100 includes: a lighting circuit 4 for lighting a lamp 3; a microcomputer 5 for outputting a lighting control signal to the lighting circuit 4 and outputting an operation signal during a normal operation; a determination circuit 6 monitoring operation of the microcomputer 5 by inputting an operation signal, and outputting a mandatory reset signal at the time of detecting stoppage of the microcomputer 5; and a mandatory reset circuit 8, after blocking a microcomputer control power source Vcc1 supplied to the microcomputer 5 or lowering it to less than an operation voltage for operation of the microcomputer 5 at the time of inputting the mandatory reset signal, restarting the supply of the microcomputer control power source Vcc1 to the microcomputer 5.
