<p>The invention relates to a current cut-off switch that can be used for the rapid, effective and complete extinguishing of electric arcs produced in an electric circuit during operations for cutting-off and closing the circuit, making it particularly suitable for cutting off direct current. The switch comprises at least one pair of fixed contacts (4, 4') and a moving contact (9) mounted in a rotor (2) made from insulating material, in which the rotor (2) is designed to move linearly in relation to the fixed contacts. The switch can be reconfigured, since during the transient current cut-off process the internal contacts of the switch are connected in series and during the permanent current conduction state of the switch the same contacts are connected in parallel.</p> |
