PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically layout a plurality of images so as to look good when making a collage.SOLUTION: The image layout method in which a plurality of images 200 are selected and arranged on a mount 300 by being tilted includes: determining important areas 100 of the images 200; and automatically arranging the important areas 100 so that the important areas 100 are not mutually overlapped (Fig. 7 (a)). When there are portions (R1 to R4) where at least part of the plurality of images 200 protrudes from the mount 300, the whole is reduced and disposed so as to fall inside the mount 300.
