<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll for an iron-making facility which is excellent in wear resistance and toughness, and also excellent in extension of the life of a coating. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a roll includes a step of thermally spraying on a surface of a roll with a WC-Co cermet thermal spraying material including 4-10 mass% Co and the balance WC to manufacture the roll for an iron-making facility, wherein a WC-Co thermal spraying material in which a content rate of an η-phase is 10 mass% or less, is thermally sprayed on the surface of the roll by a high velocity flame spraying method where a flame temperature is 3,000°C or less and a particle velocity is 300 m/s or more, to form a WC-Co sprayed coating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
