The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing vehicle damages using augmented reality. The apparatus comprises an image sensor to take a photograph of images of a vehicle; a calculation unit to determine whether a vehicle is damaged by forming a three-dimensional model of a vehicle based on an image of a vehicle and by comparing the image of the vehicle with the three-dimensional model of the stored vehicle; a display unit to display an image of the vehicle and a three-dimensional model of the vehicle on a screen; and a storage unit to store the three-dimensional model of the vehicle and the damage state of the vehicle. The method enables a user to effectively manage a damage record of a vehicle and to effectively confirm whether a vehicle is damaged by displaying damages of the vehicle on a screen of a portable device using augmented reality technology and by immediately sensing a damaged part of the vehicle by taking a photograph of the vehicle through the portable device.
