PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index creation device which can retrieve a scene to be viewed from a television program that is recorded for long time.SOLUTION: A recorder 2 records a program of television broadcast and an index distribution device 3 creates a scene index of the program. The scene index is information which shows occurrence time and contents of the individual scenes appearing in the program. A plurality of scene indexes (records) corresponding to one program are collectively written into one file but the scene indexes corresponding to the individual scenes can be made into one file. The scene indexes are distributed from the index distribution device to the recorder after the program is terminated. A user of the recorder selectively reproduces only the desired scene from the recorded program in response to the distributed indexes. |
