An apparatus (107) for providing a supply of lubricating oil (105) to a gearbox (101) from a tank (103) has a feed line for conducting the lubricating oil (105) from the tank (103) to the gearbox (101), a return line for returning the lubricating oil (105) from the gearbox (101) to the tank (103), a return valve (137) which is arranged in the return line and which is designed such that, in an open state, for the operation of the gearbox (101) in a dry-sump mode, said return valve permits the return of the lubricating oil (105) via the return valve (137), and in a closed state, for the operation of the gearbox (101) in a wet-sump mode, said return valve prevents the return of the lubricating oil (105) via the return valve (137), and an overflow device (132) which is arranged in the return line and which is designed to permit the return of the lubricating oil (105) past the return valve (137) in a manner dependent on an amount of lubricating oil situated in the tank (103) or in the gearbox (101). |
