<p>Provided is a peptide characterized by having a structure, wherein a peptide that comprises an amino acid sequence represented by formula (I) is attached to the C-terminal side of a peptide that forms an α-helix, or a salt thereof: (I) HX1X2SDX3X4 (SEQ ID NO:1) [wherein X1 and X2 may be the same or different and represent an arbitrary amino acid residue; and X3 and X4 may be the same or different and represent a hydrophobic amino acid]. The artificial peptide is capable of degrading amyloids. By using this artificial peptide, therefore, an agent for degrading amyloids, an agent for detecting amyloids, a method for degrading amyloids whereby amyloids can be degraded under physiological conditions, a simple method for detecting amyloids, a medicinal composition for treating amyloid-associated diseases and a composition for diagnosing amyloid associated-diseases can be provided.</p> |
