PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel hub bearing unit which is protected from corrosion over the whole of a fitting flange, and in consideration of required run-out tolerance, and a method for manufacturing the wheel hub bearing unit.SOLUTION: A wheel hub bearing unit for a vehicle comprises: an outside element which has a track for rotation; an inside element which has a track for rotation facing the track for rotation; and a rotor which is disposed between the elements, and engages into the tracks for rotation. One of the elements includes a spindle which has a flange constituted so as to accommodate wheels, a front face of the flange is covered with a layer of a plastic material having thickness of 30-40 micrometers, the layer is accumulated on the front face of the flange in a non-polymerized state, tolerance of the thickness does not exceed five micrometers, and the unit has run-out tolerance equal to or less than 15 micrometers. |
