This electrolytic capacitor is provided with: an anode body having a dielectric layer formed on a surface; a cathode body having a nickel layer formed on a surface; and a solid electrolyte, which is formed between the anode body and the cathode body, and which contains a conductive polymer. The electrolytic capacitor is characterized in that the nickel layer contains nickel crystal particles in a nickel layer cross-section surface obtained by cutting the nickel layer in the thickness direction thereof, said nickel crystal particles having a length of 50 nm or more in the perpendicular direction with respect to the thickness direction. Consequently, an electrostatic capacity of the electrolytic capacitor is increased, and ESR is reduced.
