1. A method for synthesizing elastomeric negative contrast acoustic particles having a functional group available for covalent modification, the method comprising:
emulsifying an elastomer pre-polymer comprising a functional group with a catalyst in the presence of a surfactant under conditions sufficient to produce emulsion droplets; and curing the emulsion droplets under conditions sufficient to form stable elastomeric negative acoustic contrast particles that have a functional group available for covalent modification. |
