Disclosed are a method and apparatus for encoding the motion vector of a current block based on an expected motion vector determined according to the selected mode by selecting either an explicit mode or an implicit mode as a mode to encode the expected motion vector of the current block. The expected mode information of the current block is obtained from a bit stream. Provided is a computer readable recording medium with a program to execute the method. |
