A device and method for the treatment of food capable of flow comprises a flow-path 6 along which the food is arranged to flow from a source 2, through a mixing region 3 to a containment area 4 and then to an output 5. The device further comprises at least one ozone water outlet 9 of an ozone water supply 7. The at least one ozone water outlet is located in the flow-path upstream of the mixing region, and comprises at least one opening arranged to effect a release of ozone water coincident with the food. Preferably the device comprises a dehydration means capable of removing moisture from the food at the source and/or the device is arranged to accept pre-dehydrated food at the source. Preferably the ozone concentration of the ozone water comprises around 20ppm or less. Preferably the food capable of flow is milk. |
