A battery pack comprises a plurality of battery cells 10 connected in parallel via a pair of conductive members 20, 30, wherein each battery cell includes a positive terminal 12 and a negative terminal 13 extending from the same terminal surface 111. The conductive members 20, 30 are electrically isolated from each other, and include a conductive portion 21, 31 extending along the terminal surface 111, and a terminal portion 22, 32 integrally formed with its respective conductive portion 21, 31 and being located towards a lateral surface 112 of the battery pack. A plurality of fuses 40 are provided on one of the conductive members 30 between the conductive portion 31 and each of the negative terminals 13 of the battery cells. The fuses 40 comprise a first leg 41 electrically connected to the conductive portion 31 and a second leg 42 electrically connected to a respective negative terminal 13. The positive terminals 12 may be joined to the conductive member 20 via intermediate conductive pieces 51, bolts 52, washers 53 and nuts 54, or may be joined directly (fig 7). The battery cells 10 may be square-shaped cells or soft pouch cells (fig 8). Since the conductive portions 21, 31 are integrally joined with the terminal portions 22, 32 (which may act as power output terminals), no wiring is required between the conductive portions and the terminal portions, which reduces the possibility of wiring caused short circuits and wire loosening. |
