Heat transfer tube and cracking furnace using the same

A heat transfer tube 10 comprises a twisted baffle 11 arranged on an inner wall of the tube, the baffle extending spirally along an axial direction of the tube and is provided with a non-through gap 12 extending from one end 14 to the other end 15 of the baffle along the axial direction of the tube. The baffle may comprise two gaps (figs 7 & 8), each extending from opposite ends of the baffle and towards each other without intersection. The baffle may have a twist between 90 and 1080 degrees, but preferably between 120 and 360 degrees. A plurality of holes (41, fig 9) in the baffle may be provided. The tube may be used in a cracking furnace and a plurality of tubes may be used. The tube promotes good heat transfer effects and small pressure loss.
