A retainer for rotatably locking a component threadingly connected, for example through a threaded connector (8, Figure 1), to an article, for example a valve body (4, Figure 1), comprises first and second parts 22, 24, the first part having an aperture receiving a portion of the component and the second locatable on the article adjacent the component. First and second parts 22, 24 have mutual engagement means, preferably interlocking teeth (52, Figure 3, 54, Figure 4) and suitably 90 teeth spaced through 360 degrees on each part 22, 24, engageable to prevent relative rotation between parts 22, 24 and preferably to prevent the component from rotating relative to the article. The component may be connected to the article during manufacture and prior to testing. Parts 22, 24 may have frustoconical walls and may be at different angles to allow engagement between them. |
