931,998. One-piece moulded spools. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Dec. 14, 1961 [Dec. 30, 1960], No. 44755/61. Class 120 (3). [Also in Group V] A moulded winding core of generally cylindrical shape has at least one radial hole which is spaced from at least one end of the core. Fig. 1 shows a core 21 with two radial holes 29, 31 which extend into the core from opposite sides and communicate with splined holes 22, 23 respectively. The holes 29, 31 are U-shaped when viewed along the axis of the core, the arms of the U diverging from a semicircular base. A cylindrical cavity is thus formed in the core, the cavity having a larger radius than the end holes 22, 23. Fig. 5 shows a spool 25 comprising a similar core 21<SP>1</SP> having flanges 26, 27 and also a slot 37 for anchoring of film &c. Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) illustrate a core with one radial hole and Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates a core with three radial holes. A resilient metal clip may be slipped over the core to cover the radial holes. Specification 369,500 is referred to. |
