CONTROL APPARATUS FOR YAW DRIVE OF WIND POWER GENERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling yawing of a wind power generator and a control method thereof. The apparatus for controlling yawing of a wind power generator comprises: a yaw motor yawing by rotating a nacelle arranged in a wind power generator in the direction of wind blowing; and an auxiliary yawing unit installed on a rear part of the nacelle and generating yawing moment so that the nacelle corresponds to the direction of wind if the direction of wind blowing is changed. The apparatus for controlling yawing of a wind power generator and the control method thereof can generate yawing moment to rotate the nacelle in the direction of wind blowing using resistance generated on one side of a nacelle if the direction of wind is changed by including the auxiliary yawing unit mounted on a rear side part of the wind power generator.
