发明名称 Improvements in superconductive transmission lines
摘要 971,306. Superconductor circuits. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 21, 1960], No. 7070/61. Heading H3B. Current is switched from one limb to another of a circuit comprising parallel superconductive lines 12, 14, Fig. 2, by driving a cryotron gate 12a or 14a resistive in the line carrying the current. The superconductors are deposited on a superconductive shield with an intervening layer of insulating material. To switch at a high speed, a resistive gate 12a has a resistance of twice the characteristic impedance of the line 12. If 12a is made resistive when a current flows in line 12, wave fronts travel from 12a in both directions around loop 10. The transfer of current from 12 to 14 is complete when the two waves complete the circuit of the loop and return to gate 12a simultaneously. The currents flowing in lines 12 and 14 are detected by cryotron gates 44, 46. In another arrangement, Fig. 3, current from a source 70 may be switched to a short superconductive limb 78 or to a longer superconductive limb 80 by means of cryotron gates 78a, 80a and control conductors 92, 96. Gate 78a, when driven resistive has a resistance equal to the characteristic impedance of the line formed by the strip 80 and shield 84. In Fig. 4 current is switched between paths 122, 124 of loop 120 by cryotron control conductors 130, 132. The two paths 122, 124 control the conductors in pairs by means of control conductors 122b, 124b, 122d, 124d, 122f, 124f. Each narrow control conductor 122b and its associated wider conductor 122c together present a characteristic impedance equal to the characteristic impedance of line 123 which matches the resistance of gate 122a. Specifications 935,208 and 970,159 are referred to.
