A method of mounting a choke in a light fitting to provide good conduction cooling together with a low acoustical noise level consists of clamping the base of the choke 1 against either an indentation 3 in the metal housing 2 of the fitting or against a metal spacer which may take the place of the indentation. Feet on the choke may be sandwiched between rubber buffers 4, 5 before bolting to the housing and metal plates may be connected to the outside of the housing to improve heat dissipation. These plates may pass through slots into the housing and there abut the sides of the choke to improve further heat conduction and may additionally be used to clamp the choke to the housing (Fig. 2, not shown). |
