Further, the drain electrode and the pixel electrode are electrically connected to each other via a connection pattern formed in a contact hole such that the welded portion floats the pixel electrode. |

1. A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; a gate electrode and a pixel electrode formed on the first substrate; a first insulating layer covering the gate electrode and partially covering the pixel electrode; an active layer on the first insulating layer; a source electrode on the active layer; a drain electrode on the active layer and connected to the pixel electrode, the drain electrode being spaced from the source electrode and connected electrically to the pixel electrode through a contact hole, wherein the drain electrode includes a cut portion at a position not overlapping the gate electrode such the pixel electrode is floating and does not receive a voltage from the source electrode via the active layer and the drain electrode; a second insulating layer above the first insulating layer; a plurality of common electrodes on the second insulating layer; and a welded portion at a region where a corresponding common electrode overlaps the drain electrode, wherein the drain electrode and the pixel electrode are electrically connected to each other via a connection pattern formed in a contact hole such that the welded portion floats the pixel electrode. |
