<p>The present invention discloses a failover device (FoD) which compensates for optical loss. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the FoD monitors internal optical power used for transmission and reception operations and uses the monitoring result to compensate for the optical loss caused by an optical distributor by adjusting the optical power of an optical amplifier.
