The present specification discloses a wearable device and a method for outputting content thereof. According to an embodiment, a method for controlling a smart watch including a base supporting a display and a first band and a second base supporting the base, comprises the steps of: detecting a user palm touch input through a touch panel of the display; determining the current state of the smart watch or the display; and changing the determined current state based on the detected user palm touch input. According to another embodiment, a method for controlling a smart watch comprises the steps of: receiving a control signal; determining a state of a display; outputting a user interface according to the determined display state and the received control signal; and applying the content of control selected through the outputted user interface to change the display state, wherein the control signal includes at least one among a palm input through a touch panel of the display, a touch or swipe input through at least one touch pad of the smart watch, and a value sensed through at least one sensor provided on the smart watch, and wherein the display state indicates whether the display is turned on or off and whether a menu, a function, or an application is executed. |
